One of the most interesting monuments located in Šamorín is the reformed church, which is one of the oldest and also the most beautiful gothic churches in Žitný Ostrov.
The church was originally built in the third quarter of the 13th century in late Romanesque style. The original building was made up of the present-day nave and the sanctuary, without the vestry and aisles. The murals were painted in 1280and 1370. The facade of the reformed church in Šamorín with its values of architecture, interior murals and frescos, in terms of art history values, it reaches much further than the town’s precincts.
