Officer's pavilion Komárno

The Officers' pavilion is situated in Komárno, in the centre of the town. It was built in 1858-1863 in a neo-Gothic style. It  bears Francis Joseph´s  personal motto on the main façade: VIRIBVS VNITIS („By united strengths”). Originally the pavilion offered accommodation to the Empire Army officers and their families. On the first floor there was a casino established for officers. Today the municipality uses the pavilion as offices. There is also an open-air theater which is popular place for the local newlyweds to take photos during the summer.
